By Dianabasi Effiong, Uyo<\/strong><\/p>\n The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Miller Dantawaye as the substantive Commissioner of Police at Kogi State Command.<\/p>\n The Commission also approved the appointment of Betty Otimenyin as the substantive Commissioner of Police (CP) for Edo State.<\/p>\n A press release on Thursday by the Head, Press and Public Relations ,Ikechukwu Ani said the Commissioners of Police for the two states are due for retirement.<\/p>\n CP Chukwuka Onuoha, Commissioner of Police for Kogi, is expected to retire from service on Jan. 22 while CP Peter Umoru, Edo, would be due for retirement on Jan. 25.<\/p>\n CP Dantawaye (Kogi) was formerly AC Operations, FCT Police Command;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 AC Field Studies, Police Academy, Wudil\u00a0 Kano; \u00a0Area Commander, Karewa Adamawa State Police Command and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 AC CID Oyo State Police Command.<\/p>\n He was also AC Admin Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Abuja; Area Commander, Area \u2018H\u2019 Ogudu, Lagos State, DC Operations, Yobe State Police Command, Damaturu; DC Operations, Edo State Police Command,<\/p>\n and later CP Information Technology(IT), Force Headquarters, Abuja<\/p>\n CP Otimenyin started her career in Bauchi State Command and served as DPO in various divisions in Plateau and Edo Commands,\u00a0 served as Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration in Kebbi State and Nigeria Port Authority\u00a0 Western Port, Lagos State.<\/p>\n She also served as Area Commander in Eleme Rivers State and Mbaitoilo in Imo State.<\/p>\n She was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, for Zone 13 Dunokuofia, Anambra State, and Zone 5, Benin, Edo State.<\/p>\n She is currently Commissioner of Police, Administration, Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), has called on the new State Command Commissioners to be dedicated and committed to the service of their fatherland.<\/p>\n Argungu said they should quickly settle to their duties and ensure that they improve the state of security in the two states.<\/p>\n He said the Commission will continue to monitor their performance and will also encourage them to give their best.<\/p>\n The approval for the appointment of the two commissioners had been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Dianabasi Effiong, Uyo The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Miller Dantawaye as the substantive Commissioner of Police at Kogi State Command.
