Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has been inducted as Patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Uyo chapter.<\/p>\n<p>The investiture took place during the institute&#8217;s Annual General Meeting (AGM), inductions, and fellows&#8217; inauguration including elections, at the ongoing Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW25) in Uyo.<\/p>\n<p>The governor&#8217;s investiture preceded the re-election of Dr. Ike Neliaku as President and Chairman-in-Council, along with Comrade Ini Ememobong and 15 others as council members of the NIPR.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Eno, in his acceptance speech, promised to abide by the code of conduct and ideals governing the Institute.<\/p>\n<p>He appealed to NIPR members to continue to project Nigeria positively.<\/p>\n<p>He also declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu&#8217;s administration.<\/p>\n<p>The governor urged Nigerians to cooperate with the President to change the nation&#8217;s fortunes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the governor, his administration has executed numerous projects without borrowing from financial institutions.<\/p>\n<p>He attributed the availability of funds to strategic and visionary decisions taken by President Tinubu, which had yielded increased revenue and more funds for developmental projects.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed his determination to make Akwa Ibom a tourist destination of choice in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He cited the ongoing reconstruction of the abandoned 5,000-seater capacity International Conference Centre and a 200-room world-class hotel as indicators of his administration&#8217;s commitment to developing the state&#8217;s tourism sector.<\/p>\n<p>The NIPR President and Chairman-in-Council performed the investiture ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Neliaku stated that the honour bestowed on governor Eno acknowledged his role in promoting the organisation&#8217;s code, professional standards, and solemn commitment to creating a more reputation-conscious society.<\/p>\n<p>He also addressed the AGM, highlighting his administration&#8217;s achievements over the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>These achievements included digital migration of membership applications, establishment of sectoral hubs, execution of MoUs with various organisations, and the annual Nigeria Spokespersons Summit.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW25) had as its theme, &#8220;Harnessing Public Relations for Economic Renaissance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, the political class, fellows, and members of the Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The week-long activities included a PR round table with traditional rulers, an undergraduate forum, plenary sessions, posthumous awards, installation of the Body of Advisers, and the investiture ceremony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Dianabasi Effiong Gov.
