Christopher Musa (Rtd).<\/p>\n<p>The group said Nigerians should support him for leadership would strengthen the country\u2019s security architecture if citizens and government at all levels play their part.<\/p>\n<p>Director-General of Good Governance Advocacy International, Leonard Anyogo, made the call in a statement on Thursday, commending President Bola Tinubu for what he described as \u201can appointment that resonates with the Nigerian populace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said Gen. Musa had earned nationwide respect, credibility and integrity from his years of service, adding that his track record as a former Chief of Defence Staff had demonstrated his capacity to lead the nation\u2019s defence sector effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Anyogo stressed that improving national security required collective responsibility, urging citizens, communities, and authorities at the local, state and federal levels to embrace transparency, fairness and justice in governance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecurity is everybody\u2019s business. Good governance makes it easier for the military to protect us because it guarantees equity and fairness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Anyogo urged Nigerians to play their part in safeguarding the country, saying national security begins with citizen participation and community vigilance.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that his organisation was ready to partner with the Ministry of Defence and other stakeholders to drive national reorientation campaigns, emphasising that sustainable security is built on good governance.<\/p>\n<p>While congratulating the minister, he said much was expected of him, stating that \u201che has consistently shown competence and dedication in previous roles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DG also appealed to international organisations and foreign partners to support Nigeria\u2019s efforts to strengthen its security system, saying \u201ca stable Nigeria remains crucial to Africa\u2019s progress\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Director-General of Good Governance Advocacy International, Leonard Anyogo.
